Nuclear Power Plants
Structure monitoring is performed with instruments that measure:
- Stress in containment building using sensors embedded in the concrete slab, wall and dome
- Structure movement using settlement gauges embedded in the concrete slab
- Containment building temperature using sensors such as embeddable thermocouples
- Vertical deviation and displacement of the inner containment building using pendulums
- Horizontal displacement of the walls using invar-wire convergence meter
- Stress in prestressing cables using load cells
Instruments
The product line is designed based on the following measurement technologies:
- Vibrating wire sensors in dampened or sustained excitation mode
- Electrical sensors including resistive, inductive, potentiometric, magnetoresistive types and linear variable differential transformer (LVDT)
- Fiber optic sensors
- Pneumatic and hydraulic sensors
- Tiltmeter electrolytic sensors
