Like the type I model, this dryer dries wet paper placed on canvas in a Yankee dryer-like manner. The drum surface can attain up to 180⁰C so that the drying time can be reduced to rationalize operating hours. An automatic safety mechanism is incorporated to keep the motor running until the surface temperature drops to a certain level after completing tests.
