Data Logger DEWE-43 for acquisition front-end

 

It's got eight dynamic analog inputs, each one backed up with a 24-bit AD converter for simultaneous sampling at the highest resolution. And the inputs are our "universal" type, which can handle strain gages and voltages up to +/-10V natively ... or connect our tiny MSI adapters and convert any of them to a different input type, including IEPE accelerometer inputs, 200V inputs, RTD's and thermocouples.

Flexible sample rate ... Anti-aliasing ... Built-in quality


Select any sample rate up to 200 kS/s/ch (simultaneous), for incredible ALIAS-FREE dynamic recordings. The 24-bit ADCs on every channel are the sigma-delta type which have strong anti-aliasing filters built right in. There is an analog AAF filter set to the Nyquist frequency of the top sample rate, plus AAF filters which are set automatically when you change the sample rate.

Is it rugged? You bet it is. We carve each chassis from a solid block of aluminum using our CNC machines. The result is a chassis that’s tough as nails. Only Dewetron builds instruments this way.

All the inputs

There are eight great dynamic analog inputs, plus eight advanced counter inputs. Each one can be configured as a counter, timer, RPM converter, encoder input, and more. These inputs are 100% synchronous with the analog inputs, of course.

Each counter LEMO connector also has three digital TTL input lines on it, so there are 24 synchronous inputs as well!
Finally, in addition there are two high speed CAN BUS interfaces, so that you can connect up to the data busses in all kinds of cars, trucks, aircraft, trains, and more. Everything is recorded synchronously to a single data file within DEWESoft, which is included in the DEWE-43 bundle.

Easy notebook connectivity


Plug the DEWE-43 into your notebook computer via USB 2.0, and connect the power (AC adapter included), and you have a system up and running within moments. You can add a webcam to your computer, to add powerful VIDEO information to your recorded data.

The USB connection is secured with a unique mini-USB connector which actually screws into the side of the DEWE-43, locking it in place, and guarding against accidental disconnection. The cable and locking connector is included. The other side of the cable has a standard USB connector to be compatible with every notebook and desktop PC.

Expandability

 

DEWE-43s and notebook

There are several ways that you can expand on the DEWE-43. First, using the 43-SYNC option, you can combine two DEWE-43s together and use them as if they were one single 16 channel module. Both need to connect to a USB 2.0 connector on your computer, and you need to connect the sync line between them (the 3 meter (~9 ft) long cable is included with the sync option). Two DEWE-43s is the limit of what can be combined in the same system. There is no loss of performance when you connect two DEWE-43s to the same computer: you can still sample all channels at 200 kS/s simultaneously!
